Excavator/Heavy Equipment Operator

• Company: B&L Construction, Inc.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $30 to $50 per hour (Based on experience) plus Year-End Bonus.
• Location: Old Saybrook, CT.
• Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday.
• Project Scope: Civil Construction / Utilities / Sitework.
• Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain).

You will serve as a primary lead operator, driving the successful installation of critical water main and utility infrastructure. This role offers the chance to work with newer equipment in a highly organized environment where your efficiency directly impacts project timelines. • Operate heavy excavation equipment with precision to install water mains and underground utilities.
• Execute complex road work and trenching tasks in strict accordance with project specifications.
• Coordinate with field operations teams to maintain a productive and organized job site flow.
• Maintain high safety standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines and company protocols daily.
• Minimize project downtime by conducting routine inspections and care of modern machinery.
• Direct on-site activities to ensure utility installations are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating excavators and heavy equipment in a civil environment.
• Proven expertise in water main installation and underground utility workflows.
• Demonstrated experience performing road work and navigating active construction sites.
• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

• Prior experience in a lead operator capacity overseeing specific project segments.
• Advanced proficiency in reading civil blueprints and site layouts.
• Current OSHA 10 Certification at the time of hire.
