Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role (40 hours) for a Construction Inspector, located in Miami, FL.
The Construction Inspector will analyze architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with Florida building codes and project specifications. Conduct regular field visits to monitor construction activities and verify quality and safety standards. Ensure all construction work meets local, state, and federal building regulations and zoning requirements. Maintain accurate inspection reports, including notes, measurements, and photographs for project records. Detect construction defects, safety hazards, or code violations and report them promptly for correction. Communicate with contractors, engineers, and local authorities to resolve technical or regulatory issues. Sign off on completed phases of work that meet code and project standards, or require corrective action if needed. Inspect structural components such as foundations, framing, and reinforcements to ensure durability and safety. Operate tools and instruments to check dimensions, materials, and system functionality during inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
- At least 12 months of prior experience
- Proficiency in Site Inspections and Construction Inspections to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Experience in Quality Control processes associated with construction projects to maintain safety and precision.
- Familiarity with Construction Management practices to oversee project progress and resolve on-site challenges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Relevant certifications in construction inspection or quality control are a plus.
