Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Fiberglass Technician to repair, fabricate, and finish fiberglass components on boats and marine vessels in the New Orleans, LA area. The ideal candidate will have experience working with fiberglass materials in a marine, shipyard, or boat repair environment, be comfortable working outdoors, and be able to perform detailed work in a physically demanding setting. Candidates must be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working a full 40-hour schedule with weekend work when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect boat hulls, decks, and structural components for fiberglass damage.
- Grind and prepare surfaces for fiberglass repair or fabrication.
- Lay fiberglass mat or cloth and apply resin, gelcoat, and composite materials.
- Shape, sand, and finish repaired areas to restore strength and appearance.
- Use hand and power tools to complete fiberglass work.
- Follow safety procedures when working with chemicals, resins, and fiberglass dust.
- Maintain quality workmanship while meeting production deadlines.
Must Have
- Experience performing fiberglass repairs or composite work.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
