We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a strong background in demolition operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery to dismantle structures, remove debris, and prepare sites for redevelopment. This role requires precision, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively on dynamic and sometimes hazardous job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, loaders, and specialized demolition machinery.
Perform structural demolition of buildings, bridges, concrete, and other materials in accordance with engineered plans and safety standards.
Execute controlled demolition techniques to minimize risk and protect surrounding property.
Load and haul debris, scrap, and materials from demolition sites.
Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment.
Maintain equipment in good working condition by reporting mechanical issues and performing basic maintenance.
Work closely with site supervisors, spotters, and other crew members to ensure efficient demolition progress.
Follow all OSHA, company, and environmental safety regulations, including dust suppression and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Read and interpret demolition plans, blueprints, and instructions.
Adapt to changing site conditions while maintaining productivity and safety.
