Electronic Technician

Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electronic Technician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a shipyard or similar industrial environment. This role is responsible for laying out, building, testing, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electrical and electronic components, equipment, and systems supporting vessel construction and repair. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively with engineering teams.
Must-Haves
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electronic Technician
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across electronic systems
- Experience with system start-up, testing, calibration, and repair
- Familiarity with commercial and government specifications and codes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a shipyard, marine, or heavy industrial environment
- Experience working closely with Electrical Engineers on system design and troubleshooting
- Ability to develop sketches or diagrams to clarify design intent
- Experience setting up and using test equipment for functional and environmental testing
- Background in evaluating system performance in real-world operating conditions
- Strong technical writing skills for reports, charts, and system documentation
