About the Position
We are seeking a Class A Driver with Passenger (P) and Airbrake Endorsements to provide transportation services in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
The duties of this position will be performed on-site in Bethesda, MD and within the local commuting area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide transportation support to the Department of Patient Administration MEDEVAC team when required.
- Provide transportation support to hospital staff and Troop Command when required.
- Provide transportation support to Wounded Warriors for event transportation.
- Perform required administrative duties.
- Provide customer service to the entire hospital community through knowledge and phone courtesy.
- Vehicles driven will include:
- Patient Evacuation Vehicle (PEV)
- Medical Ambus (44 passenger)
- Ambulances
- Luggage Truck
- All Airbrake vehicles
- Vans, sedans, pick-ups, SUV’s
Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen (required)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Ability to successfully pass a Tier III background investigation and suitability and maintain good standing (required)
- Possess current CDL Class A with Passenger (P) and Airbrake Endorsements (required)
- 7 years’ experience as a driver in the National Capital Region (required)
- Possess basic computer skills
- Ability to successfully complete Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and maintain certification (required)
- Must complete GSA Defensive Driver’s Course within 90 days of being on board (required)
- Remain current with licensing/certificates/training by Continuing Education
- Capable of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to effectively communicate with customers, supervisors, and dispatchers regarding assignments, route information, and customer service.
Compensation:
We offer a competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, and the opportunity for professional growth within our organization. Some Overtime Hours at Time and a Half Rates will be available.
