About the Position
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Administrative Assistant with financial and accounting experience to join our team supporting a federal government program in San Francisco, CA. This role offers the opportunity to build and strengthen your financial project management skills while supporting budget tracking, compliance reviews, and reporting in a government environment.
Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess financial products and procedures for compliance with government standards, accounting principles, and system requirements.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, bank records, escrow, and real property records for individuals, companies, and partnerships.
- Support budget allocation, execution, and administration processes, assisting with tracking and reporting on obligations and expenditures.
- Prepare and analyze business forms, including corporations, partnerships, LLCs, family trusts, and estate planning-related trusts.
- Assist in the review of debt collection actions, including garnishment, execution, and receivership procedures.
- Detect, reconcile, and help remedy fiscal discrepancies; provide clear, actionable reports to management and decision makers.
- Utilize activity-based costing, business case analysis, and outsourcing evaluations to support management decisions.
- Support integration of financial management systems and provide recommendations on system enhancements.
- Develop work breakdown structures and create charts, tables, graphs, and diagrams to aid in project analysis.
- Regularly use online databases, Excel, Access, and other commercial database programs for data analysis and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Experience in a federal government environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, Access, and online computer databases.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Security Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOJ Public Trust security clearance.
