The duties for the position Include but are not limited to: Safely and responsibly working in an industrial production environment that has exposure to high voltages, Hot and cold temperatures, Indoors and outdoors, chemicals, confined spaces and mechanical hazards. The Maintenance Shop Hand’s responsibilities will include cleaning all types of industrial machinery, mixing, testing and dispensing chemicals, Landscaping, Housekeeping, all manner of maintenance activities, Removal of metal chips from machines, handling raw material, assisting maintenance technicians, and other duties as assigned. This position also requires leadership of the shop hand team as well as training and mentorship.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1 year in an industrial setting.
- Landscaping
- Housekeeping
- Painting
- Maintenance duties
- Experience working with industrial chemicals a plus
- Machine shop experience a plus
- Forklift driving and safety training.
- 3 Phase power and industrial electricity exposure is preferred
- HVAC experience is preferred
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- High level of dedication and motivation for your job with a positive attitude.
- Ability to safely lift at least 50 lbs.
- Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to read and write English, bilingual is a plus
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
- Strong problem solving skills a must
- Strong communication skills and good attention to detail
- Must provide some basic hand tools and secure storage for them.
- Excellent attendance with the requirement for overtime work as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work safely in an industrial environment
- Leading a team of shop hands. (This is a working lead position)
- Drive a forklift
- Mix and refill machine coolant
- Empty metal chips from CNC production machinery
- Use a band saw or other equipment to dispose of defective articles
- Empty trash and recycling
- Shred documents securely
- Move raw material around the production areas
- Think and act with security in mind
- Housekeeping and production tasks
- Grounds keeping of all kinds, year round
- Some light repair work
- Some preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility
- Continuously improve your skill set and methods of preforming your job
- Handle privileged and confidential information in a secure manor.
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Salary : $17 - $19
