Radiology Technologist - Per Diem

Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing a full range of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. They independently conduct or assist with procedures, prepare and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure, and ensure patient safety while adhering to legal and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and ensure proper preparation for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Use appropriate protocols and optimize technical factors to maximize patient safety, applying ALARA principles.
• Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and ensure proper data storage or transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including those outside the radiology department.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire; those hired after a specified date must progress to level 2 within 24 months.
  
  

Work Environment & Expectations: Primarily performed in a clinical setting, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills may be required. The role emphasizes safety, patient care, and collaboration.
