Radiology Technologist MRI - Weekender Nights

Role Overview

Seeking an MRI Technologist responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to support diagnosis, therapy, or research. The role involves preparing patients, ensuring proper identification, and utilizing appropriate imaging protocols while prioritizing patient safety and adhering to ALARA principles. The technologist evaluates image quality, adjusts technical factors, and manages data transfer and storage. They assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and may administer medications within legal guidelines. Educating and monitoring students or other healthcare providers is also part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct orders, properly identify patients, and prepare them for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Apply imaging protocols, optimize technical settings, and ensure safety.
• Evaluate images for quality, verify data transfer, and support post-processing as needed.
• Assist with magnetic resonance interventional procedures and perform prescribed imaging.
• Select pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities and demonstrate commitment to departmental priorities.
• Educate and monitor healthcare staff and students, applying safety principles to minimize risks.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification by ARRT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB with MR specialization is required.
• Graduate from a radiologic technology specialty training program; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in routine and complex MRI duties and safety protocols.
• Strong understanding of imaging technology, patient care, and safety practices.
