Cardiac Sonographer

Role Overview

Provides primary technical assistance in the Cardiology Department's Non-Invasive Lab, supporting physicians in performing diagnostic tests. Ensures smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Performs 2D, M-Mode Doppler, and exercise stress echocardiography (Treadmill and Pharmacologic) as directed
• Provides patient education, explains procedures, and delivers timely test results
• Compiles reports for cardiologist review and interpretation
• Maintains echocardiography equipment and manages supplies
• Completes preliminary reports using the cardiovascular reporting system
• Adheres to infection control protocols and participates in professional development
• Facilitates effective interdepartmental communication
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with completion of an accredited Ultrasound training program
• ARDMS registry in adult Echo and Stress Echo or within one year of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR/AED certification
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
• Over two years of cardiac scanning experience with adults
