SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Responsible for leading college grant efforts both within the small team and within the larger college grants ecosystem, including researching, leading project teams, applying, helping the college stay compliant, training Principal Investigator / Project Director (Pl/PD), and remediation efforts. Strategically plan the College's resource development concepts that address unmet college and partnership needs while sustaining and expanding current college-wide efforts.TYPICAL DUTIES:
Serves Students by developing college-wide and service area grants in alignment with the AWC Strategic Plan. This spans all activities needed from research to concept, from recruiting a team to develop and write, to revising, evaluating, publishing, and submitting grants in a manner that aligns with specific grant requirements, college policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.Employing an inclusive planning process with diverse stakeholder input:
Identify, prioritize, and develop grant projects based on district funding goals, utilizing a comprehensive planning process that results in implementable project/program concept designs, objectives, strategies, management plans, personnel structures/responsibilities, and assessment.
Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to obtain input and garner project support as needed to meet institutional and grant objectives on multiple, complex initiatives, all in support of college strategic directions, mission, vision, and values.
Work strategically with project teams and executive administration to plan projects/programs that result in the development of project budgets, resource plans, objectives, tracking metrics, defining measurable outcomes, and evaluation methodology, ensuring assigned projects are developed in compliance with applicable regulatory, policies, procedures, guidelines, and methodologies.
Manage, assess, develop, and maintain College grant processes to ensure cross-departmental communication and coordination of efforts for grant acquisition, maintenance, tracking, and reporting.
As primary grant-writer for the district, engage in active grant writing, and lead grant-writing teams O)' establishing project timelines and maintaining inter-departmental coordination; manage grant goals, objectives, and strategies, and program development within grant parameters. Oversee grant committee efforts, establish objectives, and achieve meeting outcomes. Assist faculty and staff with grant writing for sanctioned projects.
Lead the co-creation of Principal Investigator / Project Director (Pl/PD) training with district partners from the wider grants ecosystem, including HR, Business Office, and Marketing. Create robust resources so Pl/PD can adequately serve their grant projects and help the college stay compliant. Assist the department lead / Pl / PD in preparing and monitoring College grant funding goals, timely invoicing, and meeting all reporting deadlines with accuracy and on time. Organize, coordinate, and support any required remediation efforts.
Act as Authorized Organizational Representative and Sponsored Research Office Representative with Grants.gov, the National Science Foundation on behalf of the institution, and other organizations as assigned.
Support and make visible the larger grants ecosystem in the district by collaborating regularly with partners in HR, Business Office, and Marketing. Ensure Pl / PD and their development teams understand the steps to both apply for and fulfill a grant, leveraging the wider teams around the district.
Provide technical advice, problem-solving assistance, answers to questions regarding grant program goals, evaluation design, grant contract and agreements, and policy interpretation. (This requires assimilation and communication of a large amount of complex i1formation with consistent attention to detail.)
Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
