Description

The Prefabrication Intern will support the Prefabrication Coordinators and Project Management team to execute fabrication management and program management ventures for a specific project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Adhere to the company's safety programs and policies and assist others with compliance.
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of fabrication functions including, but not limited to the following: scheduling, engineering, material control, procurement, safety and provide day to day support to project foremen.
  • Assist Project Managers with job change orders.
  • Attends project meetings as directed by project manager.
  • Maintains drawing records in an orderly fashion. Maintains a drawing log and ensures that working copies are properly updated and old versions are voided.
  • Assist in weekly job progress reporting accurate quantities installed and labor hours performed timely for job costing purposes.
  • Provides technical assistance as required, such as interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience :

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree.

Other Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Construction or fabrication background preferred.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
