Cisco Wireless Architect / SME
Location: Spokane,WA (Oniste for 2 weeks )

Role Overview
This role begins with a hands-on onsite wireless assessment and remediation, followed by remote support focusing on Cisco ISE and ongoing improvements. The position supports both IT and OT environments critical to operations, automation, and safety systems.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in wireless architecture, RF design, and industrial environments, along with the ability to quickly assess issues, implement solutions, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Wireless Assessment, Design & Deployment
- Lead onsite wireless assessment, cleanup, and stabilization efforts
- Design, implement, and optimize wireless networks for industrial environments
- Conduct RF site surveys (active, passive, predictive) using tools like Ekahau
- Identify and resolve coverage gaps, interference, and performance issues
- Deploy Wi-Fi (802.11), point-to-point, and industrial wireless solutions
Systems Integration (IT & OT)
- Integrate wireless infrastructure with IT and OT systems (SCADA, automation, telemetry)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration
Operational Support & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot complex wireless issues including RF, authentication, and connectivity
- Resolve issues across Cisco platforms (WLC, DNAC, ISE)
- Support authentication models including 802.1X and guest access
- Provide Tier 3 support during and post-remediation
Configuration & Optimization
- Review and remediate WLC and access point configurations
- Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of wireless infrastructure
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Document findings, configurations, and recommendations
- Provide best practices and guidance to internal teams
Technology Leadership
- Act as the wireless SME both onsite and remotely
- Contribute to long-term architecture and design improvements
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in mining or heavy industrial environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco wireless technologies:
- Catalyst 9800 WLCs
- AireOS
- Cisco DNAC
- Cisco ISE
- Experience with large-scale wireless deployments and remediation
- Strong RF design and troubleshooting experience (outdoor/industrial)
- Experience supporting OT-integrated networks (SCADA, telemetry, automation)
- Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines
Nice to Have
- Experience with private cellular networks (4G/5G) in industrial environments
- Experience in large enterprise or global industrial environments
