Industrial Millwright Fabrication Technician Location: Chapel Glen, IN (West Indianapolis) | Environment: Manufacturing PlantShifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd | Compensation: $37–$42 A day in the life You start your shift by walking the line—listening for unusual gear noise, checking lubrication points, and scanning the CMMS for priority work orders. A conveyor shows erratic motion; you dive into schematics, isolate a worn gearbox, and get production back on track. Mid-morning, you fabricate a steel bracket to support a new pump install. By afternoon, a piping leak needs a quick precision repair, and you wrap up by documenting work, housekeeping your area, and coordinating tomorrow’s planned maintenance. What you’ll handle Execute corrective and preventive mechanical maintenance across plant equipment and systems.Troubleshoot, repair, and service mechanical systems using prints, schematics, and technical manuals.Install and align new machinery; perform on-site fabrication to support installations and upgrades.Repair and maintain pumps, piping networks, gearboxes, conveyors, and related process equipment.Carry out steel fabrication, structural repairs, and modifications that keep operations running.Keep a clean, orderly workspace that meets company and site-specific safety requirements.Champion Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) best practices in all tasks.Assist with cross-functional maintenance and production priorities as needed. What you bring 2–3 years of recent experience as an industrial maintenance technician, millwright, or machine repair mechanic in manufacturing.Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.Ability to pass an S.M.A.W. (stick welding) test; solid grasp of metal properties and safe welding techniques.Comfort with computer-based maintenance systems; CMMS experience is a plus.
