Job Title: F5 Access Policy Manager
Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced F5 APM Specialist to design, build, configure, and support F5 Access Policy Manager (APM) solutions within enterprise environments. This role serves as a core access‑broker engineering position focused on secure authentication, authorization, and identity federation across on‑premises and cloud applications. The specialist will work hands‑on within the F5 environment to implement, troubleshoot, and optimize modern identity integrations and secure access architectures, partnering closely with cybersecurity, IAM, infrastructure, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, configure, and support F5 APM solutions in enterprise environments
Implement and maintain secure authentication and authorization workflows using SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth 2.0, and federation services
Configure F5 APM policies for secure remote access, application access, and identity federation
Integrate F5 APM with enterprise identity providers, directories, and MFA platforms
Support access broker and federation capabilities for cloud and on‑premise applications
Troubleshoot authentication, federation, and access issues across complex environments
Collaborate with cybersecurity, IAM, infrastructure, and application teams to support secure access initiatives
Perform upgrades, policy tuning, optimization, and ongoing operational support for F5 environments
Document configurations, implementation standards, and operational procedures
Participate in architecture discussions and provide recommendations for secure identity and access solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
5 years of hands‑on experience with F5 technologies, including significant experience with F5 Access Policy Manager (APM)
Strong expertise configuring and administering F5 BIG‑IP and access federation/authentication policies
Deep understanding of modern identity and federation concepts including SAML 2.0, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SSO, and federation services
Experience integrating F5 with Azure AD / Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, Active Directory/LDAP, and MFA solutions
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in enterprise authentication environments
Experience working in complex enterprise infrastructure and security environments
Experience with Zero Trust access architectures (preferred)
Knowledge of conditional access and adaptive authentication strategies (preferred)
Familiarity with network security concepts such as reverse proxies, load balancing, and secure gateways (preferred)
Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs (preferred)
F5 certifications such as F5‑CA, F5‑CTS, or related credentials (preferred)
