Project Accountant- Structural Engineering

Axiom is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage project-based financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. This role works closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate project setup, billing, compliance, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review time entries and prepare project invoices
• Maintain client billing summaries and billing review reports
• Manage vendor setup, COIs, purchase orders, and AP processing
• Post customer payments and maintain AR summaries
• Record credit card and autopay transactions; reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Support project setup, change orders, budgets, and budget vs. actual reporting
• Manage lien waivers, pay applications, and client prequalification documents
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain contractor licenses and state registrations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 years of payroll processing experience (IRS Forms 941, 940, W-2, multi-state)
• 3 years of bookkeeping and month-end close experience
• 3 years of experience with Trimble Spectrum ERP and QuickBooks (Online & Desktop)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• QuickBooks Online certification preferred
