Under the general direction of the CFO, the Pricing Manager is primarily responsible for analyzing, formulating, recommending and implementing the pricing strategy for the firm and its timekeepers and for individual clients and their matters. They will also assist with budgeting and planning for firm matters as also assist the CFO with firm budgeting, The incumbent should be well versed in financial analysis required to support the pricing function with an eye towards improving firm profitability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participating in and analyzing results of various industry surveys to assist the firm in setting its attorney billing rates, expense budgets, and maintaining staffing ratios with a consistent focus on improving firm profitability.
- Providing analytical support and formulate recommendations for firm management for pricing discussions including alternative fee arrangements with current and prospective clients.
- Setting firm, department, and client/matter budgets and measuring performance against them. Monitor and explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluating, recommending, and implementing technology solutions to assist in budgeting, reporting, and data analysis for the firm.
- Assuming a leadership role in other special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, along with direct experience managing pricing and FP&A function of a law firm or another professional services organization required.
- Time and billing software/system experience (i.e. Elite; Aderant; or another ERP).
- Past experience in selecting and implementing budgeting, reporting, and data analysis solutions.
- Demonstrated familiarity in writing SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data.
- Proven analytical skills to look at the data and translate it to the “story”.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel (Excel is essential!), PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools.
- Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff.
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $130,000.00 – $140,000.00 annually for the CT market, $160,000 - $170,000 annually for the DC and NY market (the upper range reserved for highly qualified applicants). This position is currently available in our CT, DC and NY office location only.
