About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead all aspects of our Human Resources department. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support business objectives while fostering a positive, high-performance workplace culture. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive knowledge of employment law, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
This is a full-time, 100% onsite position based in Staten Island, New York.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all HR operations, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with company goals.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Advise executive leadership on HR best practices and workforce planning.
- Develop compensation, benefits, and employee retention strategies.
- Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Create and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Manage performance evaluation programs and employee development initiatives.
- Administer employee benefits and leave programs.
- Analyze HR metrics to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.
- Partner with department leaders on hiring plans, succession planning, and organizational growth.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- At least 3 years of leadership or HR management experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal, New York State, and local employment laws.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting organizations with 100 employees.
- Experience leading organizational change initiatives.
- Knowledge of payroll administration and benefits management.
