What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at AWT Labels & Packaging?
General Description of Job:
Provides supervision to the Second Shift and 3/2 Night Shift associates. Applies flexographic printing technical expertise to day-to-day issues and trains press operators and press helpers on how to diagnose and solve issues. Provides leadership, motivation and direction to all plant personnel on shift. Participates in management team activities as requested.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx. 80% of time):
- Ensures safety rules are followed and participates in safety functions.
- Provides work direction, trains and coaches all employees on shift.
- Troubleshoots press defects. Trains press operators in how to troubleshoot issues.
- Provides backup in efficiently running press as needed or when the facility is short on labor.
- Oversees adhesive laminating and slitting processes.
- Approves all job set ups throughout the plant, ensuring quality throughout the shift.
- Ensures available staff is effectively and efficiently utilized.
- Directs employees to keep plant organized and clean at all times.
- Ensures all planned preventative maintenance is performed.
- Ensures major or minor breakdowns of equipment are addressed promptly.
- Understands and ensures compliance with food safety policies and procedures implemented in the plant.
- Executes process management requirements within approved procedures and work instructions.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Holds accountability for all jobs run on shift and ensure they meet or exceed estimated time and materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Job Demands:
This position requires a considerable amount of walking and being on your feet for long periods of time with occasional lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds. Requests help with lifting as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent GED plus minimum of five years of experience in a print/manufacturing environment required.

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
