Molder Operator
Job Title: Moulder Operator/Millworker
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Moulder Operator/Millworker to join our Lumber Mill Production Team. As a Moulder Operator, you will play a vital role in our production process, responsible for setting up and operating a range of machinery, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. Experience with machinery such as Molders, Planers, Belt, Ripsaws, Resaws. In addition to machine operation, this role involves quality checks, routine maintenance, and ensuring a clean and organized workspace. You will also take on additional responsibilities as a Team Lead for Feeders and Pullers, providing support to the Machine Operator.
Key Responsibilities:
· Machinery Operation and Setup:
· Change and install new profile heads to meet the requirements of the current order.
· Safely operate a group of machines,
· Perform necessary adjustments and mechanical repairs to ensure smooth machine operation.
· Inspect all materials produced through the molder for finish quality, profile accuracy, and required size (net).
· Remove and identify any defects on the exit side of the molder that do not meet customer standards.
· Maintain a detailed product count using a computerized system to keep accurate records.
· Update mill tickets with the correct footages and collaborate with the mill supervisor in case of shortages.
· Must maintain a detailed PC count of products ran
· Complete essential paperwork, including time records, shipped footages, and reasons for layout.
· Strive to meet daily production targets, aiming for 25,000 linear feet per day.
· Ensure routine maintenance procedures are performed as needed to keep the machinery in optimal working condition.
Other duties as assigned.
