POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Intern will support the Information Technology team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving IT systems and infrastructure across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting both end users and critical business systems.
The intern will gain exposure to a variety of IT functions including help desk support, systems administration, and process improvement initiatives, while contributing to a capstone project at the conclusion of the internship.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Provide day-to-day technical support to end users, including hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes (user account setup, equipment provisioning, access management)
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings across systems
- Support IT projects related to system upgrades, implementations, or process improvements
- Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business technology needs
- Assist with monitoring system performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Complete a capstone project and present findings and recommendations to leadership
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies and systems in a hands-on environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience:
- Previous coursework, projects, or internship experience in IT or technical support preferred but not required
