AvtechTyee is searching for a Quality Engineer 2 with regulated industry experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility. Project management skills would be a real plus!

You will be working on the Quality Engineering team, supporting structures and/or electronics R&D and manufacturing. The role is expected to work hand in hand with the engineering and production teams in order to meet production deliverables, support obsolescence management, and ensure quality assurance is met companywide.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, participate in, and close of First Article Inspections (FAIs), Non-conformance reports (NCRs), Corrective Actions Reports (CARs), Retuned material authorizations (RMAs), and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables.
  • Assist operations team in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels for CSR (corporate social responsibility), environmental, and health and safety goals/KPIs.
  • Investigate product reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop or update company inspection procedures to ensure capture, investigation, and proper documentation.
  • Monitor risk-management procedures and use problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development teams.
  • Provide training and support to quality assurance team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
  • Actively participate in and lead internal and external audits.
  • Ongoing self-development and personal growth as an employee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in electronics and/or mechanical aerospace industry or other highly regulated industry highly preferred
  • Demonstrated NADCAP, heat treatment experience would put you ahead of other candidates
  • Experience meeting FAA and AS9100 compliance requirements highly preferred
  • Experience as customer-facing Lead preferred
  • Experience with ITC and JC and the impacts relative to Quality assurance
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version-control procedures, and defect management processes
  • Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, CQE (certified quality engineer), or CQA (certified quality auditor)

The target wage/salary range for this role may be within $80k - $110k, depending on education and experience. We may look at a broader range for the right candidate.
