What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Avo Photonics?
Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.
We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous professional who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.
Specifically:
- Oversee qualification of new materials and process changes for selected production lines
- Manage corrective actions from problem identification through verification to improve product quality and yield
- Analyze production and qualification data and generate reports to summarize results
- Prepare and present quality updates internally and to customers
- Propose updates to material and process documentation to increase product quality and yield
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, such as Engineering, Physics, Material Science
- 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Engineering role for a precision component manufacturing company
- Dependable, with strong work ethic
- Demonstrated attention to detail and high aptitude to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
