Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a THAAD Focused Software Systems Engineer to support the PAE Fires IFMC Project Office, Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

- Support development of program-level software features utilizing a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach.
- Define MEI and CSCI behavior, performance characteristics, and acceptance criteria to support software implementation.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence to document tasks, issues, and workflows within an Agile development environment.
- Assemble engineering artifacts and supporting information into Program Engineering Documents (PEDs).
- Facilitate and lead internal and formal technical reviews of assigned features.
- Support adjudication and resolution of technical comments and feedback.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and prioritization activities.
- Coordinate with system architects, software developers, and integration teams to support cohesive software solutions.
- Support integration and implementation activities across cross-functional teams.
- Provide support to proposal efforts including contract re-competes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Three (3) to 10 years of systems engineering or related experience.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Proficiency using MagicDraw.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interface with multiple levels of personnel effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering.
- Experience supporting Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), Patriot, FAAD C2, or ADAM.
- Experience integrating Command and Control Systems within a System of Systems architectureStrong written and oral communication skills.
