Position: Executive Director
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Director to provide leadership and oversight for our developmental disability services organization. This full time role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact while maintaining work-life balance with a flexible schedule.
The Executive Director will be responsible for guiding the agency’s mission, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, managing staff and resources, and fostering strong community relationships to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall direction and vision for the organization’s programs and services.
- Work with the Board of Directors (if applicable) to develop and implement strategic goals.
- Promote a positive organizational culture focused on respect, inclusion, and person-centered services.
- Program & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all services meet state and federal licensing requirements, including North Dakota HCBS/DD regulations.
- Oversee quality assurance, service delivery, and compliance monitoring.
- Implement policies and procedures that support individual rights and best practices.
- Staff & Operations Management
- Supervise and support program managers, coordinators, and direct support staff.
- Oversee scheduling, staffing, and training needs.
- Monitor budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals served, families, guardians, and community partners.
- Represent the agency in meetings with state agencies, advocacy groups, and local organizations.
- Advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities at the local and state level.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5-10 years of leadership experience in developmental disability or human services programs.
- Strong knowledge of North Dakota developmental disability services and HCBS/DD regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage part-time schedule while ensuring oversight of agency operations.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
- Compensation: Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
