Position Overview: The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to design, implement, monitor and maintain manufacturing processes in order to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective way of producing the highest quality product possible.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Organize, plan, commission and maintain production lines.
- Analyze and facilitate improvements to existing operations by incorporating new methods and processes. Identify and correct man, material, machine, maintenance and methods losses.
- Coordinate new equipment qualification, purchase and installation. Analyze new equipment performance.
- Investigate operational problems affecting production and address them in a systematic, methodical manner.
- Plan the use of resources and scheduling activities.
- Prepare, submit and present necessary manufacturing documentation and support information for associated projects.
- Develop and implement cost reductions in manufacturing processes utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives where applicable.
- Work with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs.
- Liaison with R&D, contractors and suppliers.
- Assist in project proposals and process improvement plans.
- Identify, justify, prepare (appropriate) and execute various capital and expense projects within a planned budget that benefit the efficient operation of Avidity Science.
- Support Director, Operations in the post-acquisition organization improvement, transfer of manufacturing processes and start-up of manufacturing operations.
- Participate in the purchase, implementation, and verification of equipment at start-up facilities.
- Evaluate processes and equipment at acquired site to determine actions required to improve efficiency/quality/safety or move to another facility.
- Develop the lay-out of the process flow of any acquired, transferred or start-up operations.
- Develop the required Manufacturing documentation through reviews and approvals.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or a related field)
- Experience with electrical and controls is preferred
