What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Front Office Manager position at Avid and Candlewood Suites Lenoir City West Knoxville?
I'm opening a dual-brand avid Candlewood Suites in Lenoir City, Tennessee — expected around December 2026 — and I'm looking for an Assistant Front Office Manager to help build and lead our front office team from day one.
Start date: beginning of November, ahead of our December opening.
The role
This is a founding leadership position. You'll help create the front office department from zero and set the guest experience standards the hotel will run on for years:
- Hire, train, schedule, and coach the front desk team
- Own the guest arrival experience — check-in, check-out, and personal recognition
- Respond to guest complaints, solicit feedback, and drive continuous improvement
- Oversee the night audit function and daily financial reporting
- Manage labor, operating expenses, and front desk upselling within budget
- Partner daily with housekeeping and maintenance on room readiness
- Uphold IHG brand standards, security, and safety programs
What I'm looking for
- 1–2 years of front office or guest service experience, including supervisory experience
- A coach's mindset — someone who develops people, not just fills shifts
- High standards, with the patience to teach them to others
- Organized, hands-on, and calm when the pressure's on
- IHG experience a plus; pre-opening or new-build experience a plus — neither is required. Heart and leadership matter more.
What you'll get
- A true founding role — your standards become the hotel's standards
- A direct line to me — no layers between you and the GM
- Competitive salary
