The primary focus of this position is business application administration, system configuration, troubleshooting, automation, and process improvement. The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned systems, develop a strong understanding of how our applications interact, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through customization, reporting, and integrations.

This position requires hands-on experience with SQL and automation, along with the ability to investigate technical issues and independently develop practical solutions. The Systems Administrator II will also collaborate with internal departments and software vendors on more complex customizations, integrations, and technology projects.

Routine helpdesk support is generally handled by other personnel, allowing this position to focus on system reliability, application functionality, and long-term improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration and Application Management

  • Administer, configure, and support critical business applications, including Nortridge Loan System (NLS), Fuse, RingCentral, Microsoft 365, and other cloud-based platforms.

  • Manage system configurations, user permissions, security settings, and application access.

  • Independently investigate and troubleshoot technical issues, coordinating with software vendors and IT service providers when necessary.

  • Support application updates, system integrations, enhancements, and implementation of new technology.

  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.

Process Improvement, SQL, and Automation

  • Work with department leaders and employees to understand existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical technology solutions.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SQL queries, reports, scripts, automated workflows, and system improvements.

  • Configure and customize business applications to improve functionality and reduce repetitive manual tasks.

  • Develop and maintain automations independently, collaborating with vendors on more complex integrations and customizations.

  • Support data validation, troubleshooting, reporting, and information exchanges between applications.

  • Build internal technical knowledge and capabilities to reduce recurring issues and unnecessary reliance on outside vendors.

  • Assist with testing, implementation, documentation, and employee training for new systems and enhancements.

Technical Operations and Security

  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, and related services.

  • Maintain appropriate system access controls, follow established security policies, and support cybersecurity initiatives.

  • Follow change-management procedures, including testing, documentation, and appropriate approvals before modifying production systems.

  • Protect confidential business and customer information and assist in identifying and addressing potential security risks.

  • Coordinate with IT and cybersecurity providers to maintain secure, reliable systems and support business continuity.

Project and Vendor Coordination

  • Organize and prioritize technical requests, ongoing projects, and system enhancements.

  • Coordinate with third-party software vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and maintain system integrations.

  • Track project progress, document changes, and communicate updates to management and affected departments.

  • Evaluate proposed technical solutions for effectiveness, maintainability, security, and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, business application administration, or a related IT role, with demonstrated technical capabilities.

  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and cloud-based business applications.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, including writing queries, troubleshooting data issues, and working with relational databases.

  • Hands-on experience with scripting, workflow automation, or process automation tools, including the ability to develop and maintain automated solutions.

  • Experience configuring, customizing, and improving business applications.

  • Strong understanding of networking, cybersecurity, identity management, and system administration fundamentals.

  • Ability to research unfamiliar systems, troubleshoot issues methodically, and develop solutions with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated initiative in identifying opportunities to improve systems and eliminate repetitive manual tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and nontechnical employees.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in banking, lending, auto finance, or another regulated financial services environment.

  • Experience with Nortridge Loan System (NLS), Fuse, or comparable financial services platforms.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI, PowerShell, or similar technologies.

  • Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and application customization.

  • Experience administering RingCentral or comparable communication systems.

  • Experience coordinating technical projects and improvements with third-party software vendors.

  • Relevant Microsoft, Azure, SQL, or systems administration certifications.

What Success Looks Like

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Avid Acceptance's core business applications, configurations, and how systems interact.

  • Independently resolve application and system issues, escalating to vendors when necessary.

  • Develop and implement practical automations, reports, and technical improvements that reduce manual work and improve employee productivity.

  • Build internal technical knowledge and documentation to reduce recurring problems and unnecessary vendor dependence.

  • Maintain reliable, secure, and well-documented systems that support the company's operational needs.

What We're Looking For

We value someone who is dependable, organized, curious, and genuinely interested in making technology work better for the people who use it.

The ideal candidate takes ownership of problems, investigates solutions independently, and recognizes opportunities to improve existing systems. They should be comfortable learning unfamiliar applications, collaborating across departments, and working with vendors while continuing to expand their technical capabilities.

Our goal is to find someone who can maintain a reliable technology environment while helping Avid Acceptance simplify processes, improve productivity, and support continued growth.
