We are looking for an experienced mechanic with strong leadership skills to join our team in Norfolk, VA. Support the next generation of aviation technicians by providing your support, supervision, and expertiseIf you want thave a meaningful impact, maintain a stable schedule in a position with strong benefits and the opportunity to grow, this is your chance—without giving up your hands-on expertise. $5,000 sign-on bonus  $5,000 relocation bonus available for qualified out-of-area candidates


Location: 📍 2329 E Little Creek Rd Norfolk, VA 23518

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday No weekends!

Compensation: Up to $95,000 annual salary based on experience and qualifications  


This position is responsible for coordinating the Aviation Maintenance Technician program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations.

JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee the Aviation Maintenance program, including daily operations, faculty/staff supervision, and teaching assignments.

  • Partner with Campus and Home Office Education teams on curriculum, course materials, scheduling, and training aids.

  • Manage faculty performance through hiring, evaluations, coaching, meetings, and mentoring.

  • Provide instructional support by substituting in classes and offering tutoring to students.

  • Advise and support students on academic, behavioral, and attendance issues; monitor “at risk” students and update records.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Education accreditor, regulatory, and safety (OSHA) requirements.

  • Oversee tools, equipment, and supply inventory to ensure resources are available and maintained for class projects.

Education 

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree preferred.

Experience/Skills 

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years related practical work experience in the aviation maintenance field.

  • Supervisory experience 
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented environment while staying detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and calm under pressure.

  • High level of integrity, strong work ethic, professionalism, and a customer-service mindset, with persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills who can work both independently and as a collaborative team member.

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams); CampusNexus experience a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings highly preferred OR 8610 in hand prior to interviewing
