A rapidly growing aircraft maintenance company Aviation Support Florida is scaling its business and expanding its capabilities and is seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead our newly established CFM56-7 and GE CF34-3 engine shop. The role reports directly to the shareholders and carries full operational and P&L accountability.
Key objective
Oversee and manage the operational, commercial, financial, and administrative functions of a newly established engine shop facility, focusing on maximizing revenue, minimizing costs, improving profitability, and enhancing shareholder value.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the setup and day-to-day operation of the engine shop.
• Ensure operational capabilities support commercial requirements.
• Establish and structure all operational departments: Maintenance, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, QA/QC, HR, Finance, and Administration.
• Define workforce requirements based on business plans and workload forecasts.
• Lead recruitment of key personnel including technicians, engineers, QA staff, and department managers.
• Plan required tooling, staffing, certification, and resource allocation to ensure operational readiness and growth.
• Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities across labor, procurement, and overhead.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and other regulatory and safety requirements.
• Represent the company in regulatory, legal, and technical matters.
• Develop comprehensive business plans, operational roadmaps, and performance targets aligned with shareholder direction.
• Create and implement operational policies and procedures for quality assurance, compliance, and workforce management.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with budgets, procedures, KPIs, turnaround time targets, and cost-control strategies.
• Implement systems to support workflow efficiency, compliance tracking, cost control, and performance monitoring.
• Promote a results-oriented culture focused on safety, accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
• Provide effective cross-departmental leadership with clear communication and alignment to financial and operational goals.
• Manage financial performance, internal controls, and reporting in line with shareholder expectations.
Key Deliverables
• Fully certified and operational engine shop (FAA Part 145 and relevant approvals)
• Implemented business plans, procedures, and operational workflows
• Improved margins through cost control and process optimization
• Scalable, compliant organization positioned for commercial growth
• Transparent performance reporting to shareholders
Requirements
• Executive leadership experience in an aviation MRO or aerospace maintenance/production organization, with direct accountability for operational performance and regulatory compliance
• Experience setting up or scaling an MRO facility or similar technical operation is a strong advantage
• Strong technical understanding of turbine engine maintenance (CFM56, GE CF34, or comparable PW/RR platforms)
• Deep familiarity with FAA and EASA regulations and proven Part 145 management experience
• Proven P&L ownership and financial management track record
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills with a focus on execution and accountability
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Knowledge of Russian language is an advantage
