Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing physical therapy services, programs, and activities
- Interpret physical therapy policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, and others as necessary
- Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, and individual restorative programs
- Initiate and implement individual restorative programs for residents in conjunction with their plan of care
- Brief residents on procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment
- Reassure residents before and during therapy treatment
- Be alert to resident's response to treatment and notify the therapist immediately for assistance as needed
- Demonstrate to residents and nursing personnel, as necessary, the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy
- Create an environment and culture that enables the facility to fulfill its mission
- Document changes and follow up on condition
- Graduate of School of Physical Therapy Assistant
- Minimum of three months recent experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant working in a nursing home environment preferred
- State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License
- CPR Certification
