A Brief Overview
The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist provides outreach opportunities for community residents who lack access to healthcare and health insurance, provides enrollment and application follow-up assistance and builds/strengthens enrollment collaborations with local partner organizations.
What you will do
- Provides enrollment assistance, including but not limited to completing coverage applications, gathering documentation and troubleshooting the enrollment process, for uninsured children and adults to access subsidized, low-cost and free health insurance programs through the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), sliding fee programs, outreach to disabled community and any other public or private resource for health care as required.
- Provides structured patient education on health coverage.
- Engages in follow-up conversations and offers renewal assistance for enrolled individuals.
- Develops, discovers and attends community events in order to promote coverage options and the mission and services of the organization.
- Collaborates with various local organizations to build awareness of coverage options, spurs enrollment and builds referral linkages.
- Accurately provides reporting to track goal achievement and client satisfaction.
- Recruits and utilizes volunteers to increase program capacity.
- Assists in the development and implementation of organizational outreach and enrollment initiatives.
- Assists with the collection, compilation, and computation of sliding fee information as requested.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) - Licensing Board Certified for applicable state within 120 Days
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) - Licensing Board Federal within 120 Days
