What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst I position at AVB Bank?
Primary Responsibilities
- With supervision and guidance, spreads and analyzes financial statements and discusses any positive or negative trends with the loan officer. Reports any negative trends to supervisor for proper loan grading;
- Reviews credits for the purpose of determining the degree of attention required, identifying potential problem credits and ensuring conformity with bank policy;
- Analyzes financial statements and credit data to inform the determination of degree of risk, credit worthiness and the ability of the customer to repay loans focusing on area of profitability, liquidity, cash flow and industry trends;
- Works with loan officers to prepare loan proposals for customer requests and credit approvals;
- Works directly and indirectly with customers and prospects during the credit review process in conjunction with the loan officer. May collaborate with more senior Credit Analysts and/or Loan Officers, depending on the complexity of the credit review;
- Monitors financial / loan covenant compliance throughout the year;
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and requested by management.

- Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates
- Stay current on banking regulations, bank policy and compliance issues
- Contribute to overall growth, stability and profitability of the bank
- Maintain involvement in community affairs to foster and promote the bank’s image and goodwill at all times

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Ability to problem solve, hold and process complex concepts, analyze data, and communicate effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
