What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pack Builder/Maintenance Assistant position at Avanti MFG?
Job Summary
Individual must have a general knowledge of machine operations, and an eye for detail. Must be able to lift 65 lbs on a regular basis and have the basic knowledge of crane operations. Basic electrical experience of 220 volt and 480 volts electricity a plus. Must be willing to understand the operations of the spinning process and its effects. Basic knowledge of mechanical repair.
Hours: 3am - 11am, Monday - Friday with potential weekend hours. Overtime highly likely and should be expected.
Pay: Starting at $15/hr
Basic responsibilities:
1. Removal of the packs from the 3rd floor.
2. Installation of packs on the 3rd floor.
3. Trouble shoot heaters and temperature probes.
4. Clean and rebuild packs for the next maintenance cycle.
5. Spin pump removal and installation.
6. Spin pump cleaning and assembly.
7. Work with spin shafts and gear boxes.
8. Fork lifts operations and experience.
9. Learn the operation of an oven for burning out packs pumps and filter housings.
Job Qualifications:
1. Must be able to lift 65 lbs
2. Must have good time management skills to get the packs done in a timely manner
3. Must be able to work with minimum supervision
4. Must be familiar with electrical/battery/air operator power tools
5. Must be familiar with hand tools to take packs apart
6. Must be computer literate so reports can be made and emails read
7. Must be able to work overtime on maintenance cycle days
8. Must be able to drive a forklift truck or be willing to learn
9. Must be able to follow verbal/written instructions for maintenance procedures
10. Must be able to accept that being dirty is part of the job
11. Must have full body motion, to include bending, lifting and climbing of steps without assistance
12. Must accept that you can be called in to work on days off if maintenance emergency happens
13. Must be willing to do other jobs in the plant beside working with packs and pumps
14. Maintenance background preferred
