What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Avanti Mansion?
Avanti Mansion in Blasdell, NY is looking for a cook to join our culinary team! We are located at 4409 South Park Ave. in Blasdell. We are a banquet facility that specializes in executing Weddings on the weekends. Our facility is the only venue in Western New York to be a part of the Leading Caterers of America (LCA) group, an exclusive invite-only organization of the top caterers in the country.
Our ideal candidate is a team player, attentive, ambitious, hard-working, and reliable. We are a team-oriented kitchen that enjoys having fun while having a passion for cooking. We are currently hiring for part-time and full-time positions. This is an entry level position, known as our Culinary Crusader. With the ability to grow into other positions.
Availability must be Tuesday – Sunday, with an emphasis on weekend availability. During the week, Prep Days are Tuesday through Thursday during normal business hours. Event Days are typically Friday through Sunday, which extend later into the night with an average shift time of approximately 8-10 hours. Occasional weekday events may require later availability during the week beyond normal business hours. Monday is always a day off!

Responsibilities
- Set up workstations
- Cook dishes to business standards
- Follow health and safety guidelines
- Follow direction from lead Chef/Manager
- Prepare ingredients for use during shift
- Must be available weekends
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs
Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation as bus routes don't run late on weekends
- Proven working experience as a cook
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
