POSITION SUMMARY
The AvantGarde, LLC (AG) Administrative Assistant supports the AG client on site at the United States Capitol Police (USCP), Office of Human Resources (OHR). This role will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist with the day-to-day operations of OHR. This position will manage the front desk and handle various administrative tasks. This role will require 5 days per week onsite at the USCP office at 499 South Capitol Street, SW, Washington, DC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide front desk customer service and administrative support for the Office of Human Resources (OHR) by responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Create, edit, and maintain documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other business correspondence using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate professional phone and email etiquette by answering calls, managing inquiries, directing requests, and providing timely and accurate information.
- Support senior team members by scheduling appointments, managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and maintaining office records, files, and administrative documentation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with employees, managers, leadership, and visitors to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Independently manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, solve routine administrative issues, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, correspondence, records management, and other administrative tasks.
- Provide administrative support to Associate Directors and other OHR leadership, as requested, on human resources initiatives, special projects, and day-to-day operations.
- Assist with administrative and HR-related activities across multiple functional areas, including HR policies and procedures, workforce relations, talent acquisition and talent management, position classification, HR information systems (HRIS), payroll, and other human resources programs.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive personnel information and documents in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
