Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the facility
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Facility’s quality assurance program for the Nursing Department.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator.
- Make daily rounds of the Nursing Department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
- Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel, residents or family members and ensure appropriate reports are made.
Qualification and Requirements
- Possess a current license and registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing in Long Term Care with managerial experience
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
