Director of Nursing (DON) – 5-Star Skilled Nursing & Subacute Rehab – Ocean County, NJ
A highly respected, CMS 5-star skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Ocean County, NJ is seeking an accomplished Director of Nursing to lead its clinical team. This is a well-established campus with a decades-long reputation for quality care, consistent recognition from the New Jersey Department of Health, and a large, clinically sophisticated subacute program.
This is not a rebuild. You will step into a strong, fully supported nursing department with an ADON, a dedicated Infection Preventionist, and four Unit Managers already in place, so you can focus on leading, raising the bar, and protecting the outcomes this building is known for.

What You'll Lead
- All nursing services across long-term care and a high-acuity subacute unit
- Clinical programs including IV therapy, tracheostomy and pulmonary care, wound care, enteral feeding, and trauma rehabilitation
- Rehospitalization prevention
- Survey readiness, regulatory compliance, and QAPI
- CMS quality measures and continued 5-star performance
- Retention, and development of the nursing team
What We're Looking For
- Active New Jersey RN license (or eligibility for NJ licensure)
- Extensive experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility
- A proven record of long, consistent tenure in DON roles
- A track record of low rehospitalization rates and strong survey results
- Experience leading a large subacute or short-term rehab program
- A visible, steady leadership style that nurses trust and want to follow
- BSN or MSN preferred; RAC-CT, DNS-CT, or wound certification a plus
