The role involves designing, analyzing, and implementing engineering solutions from concept through manufacturing, ensuring product performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements are met.
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Bloomfield CT
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using PTC Creo or similar CAD tools.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, tolerance analysis, and technical reports.
- Support Engineering Change Orders (ECN/ICN) and production implementation.
- Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Perform root cause analysis, risk assessments, and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering teams, and customers to deliver solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- 5–8 years of mechanical design engineering experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation.
- Hands-on experience with PTC Creo and Windchill PLM (preferred).
- Experience designing sheet metal components, enclosures, or busbar systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and product development lifecycle.
