Role: Quality Engineer
Location: Gastonia, NC — Onsite
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary
Seeking a Quality Engineer with experience in material inspection, sheet metal manufacturing processes, and problem solving. The Quality Engineer will perform supplier-site inspections, approve shipments for release, document inspection results, and resolve quality issues involving rejected materials or shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform material inspections at supplier sites and verify materials meet quality requirements.
- Review and approve shipments for release to the Gastonia/Richmond operations.
- Document inspection results, shipment data, photographs, and quality findings.
- Investigate rejected shipments and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Review and coordinate quality assurance and quality control requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
- Work with suppliers, SQE teams, and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns.
- Travel to Richmond, VA, approximately once or twice per month as required.
Required Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on material inspection experience.
- Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of quality assurance and quality control practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality specifications.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–3 years of relevant quality engineering or manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with suppliers or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
