What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stand Assembler - General Production position at Avalon Pontoon Boats?
Job Summary: The stand assembler prepares the captain’s stand as required so that it is ready to be installed on the assembly line. The assembly involves installing the dash panel and fuse panel and completing the required electrical connections. Each stand can vary in type, size, accessories, etc., so the stand assembler double-checks their work before the stand is installed on the boat.
Key Responsibilities:
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
Follows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work
Reads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specifications
Uses various hand and power tools to assemble helmstand
Completes all job duties within given time constraints
Performs other duties as assigned
Cross-trains between several different jobs
Cleans and maintains work area
Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Attention to detail
Excellent problem solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Needs good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defects
Ability to accurately read a tape measure
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environment
Ability to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50 hrs. per week)
Physical Requirements and Environment
Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 75 lbs. without assistance
Involves standing, bending, and lifting
for long periods as required
Requires repetitive movement and extensive use of hands, working with small parts
Includes exposure to noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortable
Requires wearing personal protective equipment
