Position Summary and Job Responsibilities

Position Summary

BGI LLC is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support a Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV. The individual’s primary responsibility would be providing Linux System support to a team of engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and Pilots. 

 

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous operation of multi-user Linux computer systems to ensure team can effectively support the mission
• Setting up administrator and service accounts.
• Installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Performing configuration and troubleshooting of systems which may be desktop and/or server based.
• Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
• Aid users in accessing and using systems.
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Maintaining system documentation
• Must possess the ability to work independently or work well with a team.

Required and/or Preferred Qualifications

Required and/or Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, licenses, skills)

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience with LINUX system administration
• US Secret security clearance

Preferred Quals:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret security clearance
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification
• COMPTIA Linux and/or Security certification
