Position Summary:
The Software and Embedded Firmware (“SW/FW”) Quality Assurance (“QA”) Analyst’s primary role is to identify and ensure the resolution of quality issues in Radian’s SW/FW products. The SW/FW QA Analyst will follow existing test procedures and write new procedures, as applicable, as well as work with SW/FW Developers, Engineering, Product Managers, Project Managers, Regional Solutions Managers, and the Customer Service Support Team to confirm customer reported defects and concerns and to ensure requirements are complete, testable, and unambiguous. The SW/FW QA Analyst will perform and continuously improve manual testing, validating GUI and physical behavour (i.e. buttons, sensors, etc.); as well as automated testing by building test scripts to validate functionality repeatedly and consistently.
Responsibilities:
- Execute all phases of the QA cycle (e.g. requirements analysis, test case identification, test plan
authoring, execution, defect tracking, status, and reporting of results).
- Create test cases, scenarios, and supporting data based on customer requirements and design
documentation.
- Execute tests to validate that the SW/FW complies with standards and documented requirements.
- Perform Functional, Regression, Performance, System Integration, and User Acceptance testing
based on customer requirements.
-Log and track defects from initial discovery to closure, working with SW/FW Developers to assess
severity and impact.
- Develop test planning activities, including developing documentation and estimating testing needs and timeframes.
- Develop an understanding of SW/FW requirements, including how users use the products and the
impact of change to the users’ workflow.
- Troubleshoot SW/FW problems and escalate issues, as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Electrical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or other related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Software and Firmware Quality Assurance experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of:
- Basic programming principles
- Basic electrical theory
- SQL
- SW/FW development product suite (Atlassian, Microsoft, etc.)
Skilled at:
- Problem solving and requirements analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Writing quality management system procedures, work instructions and test instructions
- The design, writing, and execution of quality test plans for electronic hardward, software, and
firmware
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of software programming and software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of SQL Server
- Ability to multi-task while meeting testing/project deadlines
- Critical thinking, organizational skills, self-motivated, and detail oriented
- Works well in a team environment, as a liaison and alone
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Jira, Dev Ops, and Testrail
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
