What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Affiliate Marketing position at Autumn Communications?
As the Affiliate/Growth Director, you are a lead in our agency’s growing affiliate team. You will nurture and expand the Affiliate/Growth division at Autumn Communications, leading a dedicated team of 3–5 specialists (from Coordinator to Senior Manager). The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep roots in the industry and possesses a proven track record of weathering any market climate to drive new business and agency growth.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Craft affiliate-driven influencer & performance PR strategies to complement traditional affiliate, paid influencer and PR tactics and support client-led goals & challenges.
- Oversee teams in executing strategies in alignment with client objectives; identify and resolve when strategies aren’t working or situations change.
- Develop & strengthen relationships with priority influencer contacts and commerce editors to maximize partnership potential and success for clients.
- Demonstrate commitment to industry, agency and clients by mastering industry knowledge and trends, understanding and clients’ business.
- Serve as senior point of contact for clients; ensuring quality work from the team in order to meet/exceed expectations and maintain client retention. Also act as the escalation point for any client concerns/issues that may come up.
- Refine measurement framework & best practices for affiliate-driven influencer & performance PR scopes.
- Effectively and regularly communicate with internal team members across PR and Talent & Creator divisions.
- Support business development efforts, participate in RFPs and pitches, positioning Autumn Communications’ Affiliate/Growth division as an agile channel to support client goals.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of, and be conversant in, assigned client’s business, products, industry and competitive landscape.
- Mentor junior, mid-level, and senior staff by managing the review process of all direct reports.

Requirements:
- 8–10 years of experience in affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, or related fields.
- Mastery of the Landscape: Expert knowledge of major affiliate networks (Awin, CJ, Impact, Pepperjam, Rakuten).
- Platform Proficiency: Experience onboarding and scaling with creator-driven platforms like Impact Creator, ShopMy, and LTK.
- Media Savvy: A proven ability to pitch eCommerce editors and secure high-value placements.
- Strategic Depth: A profound understanding of where affiliate, PR, and influencer marketing intersect.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong data skills to audit content and perform competitive analysis.
