Sr Manager, Strategy

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Strategy is responsible for evaluating opportunities and delivering recommendations that align with AutoNation’s growth strategy

Organizational Relationships:

Directly reports to the V.P. of Strategy with interaction across Executive leadership, Board of Directors, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Finance and M&A teams, and business stakeholders

Job Responsibilities:

1. Support AutoNation’s Pre-Owned Growth Strategy
• Develop comprehensive landscape view of marketplace
• Assess gaps to address (e.g. capabilities, operating model, solutions)
• Define blueprint for scalable approach to grow Pre-Owned
• Identify viable growth plans: both organic and inorganic
• Collaborate with M&A team on evaluation of potential acquisition targets, with emphasis on strategy due diligence and fit with AutoNation
• Support strategic planning and communication efforts (e.g. EC reviews, Board meetings)
2. Provide overall support around AutoNation’s strategic initiatives
• Evaluate and assess opportunities for fit with AutoNation strategy
• Support regular meetings with Executive Committee and Board of Directors on Brand Extensions Strategy

 Qualifications:

1. 8 years of relevant work experience, strong preference for experience working in core operational areas of automotive retail
2. Significant experience working with quantitative analyses (e.g. financial, modeling, forecasting)
3. Strong communication skills: both verbal and written
4. Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
5. Ability to be flexible and work in fluid, fast-paced environment
6. Experience working in MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
7. Must meet company’s requirements for employment
8. Must adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Physical Requirements:

1. Standard office environment, with occasional travel (~1-2x per month)
