About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Enterprise Data Architect to spearhead our organization’s data modernization efforts. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing robust, scalable and secure data architecture that aligns with our business objectives and supports advanced analytics, enable AI/ML capabilities and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise and leadership skills to transform our data landscape especially in the context of integrating diverse data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Architecture Strategy and Design
- Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise data architecture strategy that supports current and future business needs.
- Design scalable data models (conceptual, logical and physical) to support data warehousing, data lakes and real-time analytics.
- Establish data standards, guidelines and best practices for data modelling, metadata management and data integration.
- Data Integration Leadership
- Lead the integration of disparate data systems resulting from mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless data consolidation and consistency.
- Address challenges related to mismatched systems, data silos and varying data formats by implementing effective data mapping and transformation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure unified data governance and quality across the organization.
- Data Governance and Quality
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Define data ownership, stewardship and accountability across the organization.
- Establish data quality metrics and monitoring processes to maintain high data standards.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with business leaders, data analysts and IT teams to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Communicate complex data architecture concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teams.
Qualifications and Expertise
Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in enterprise data architecture, with demonstrated success in architecting large-scale, mission-critical data systems.
- At least 3 years in data architecture leadership capacity, directly driving data modernization and transformation initiatives across complex enterprise environments, including data integrations and legacy system retirement.
- Proven track record delivering cloud-first data strategies that have significantly enhanced scalability, data access, performance and governance.
Technical Expertise
- Deep, hand-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including but not limited to Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Mastery of data modelling tools (e.g. Datagrip, Lucidchart, ER Studio, ERwin etc.)
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern big data technologies such as Apache Spark.
- Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), as well as ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming frameworks and data integration tools.
- Experience with data cataloging frameworks and tooling (e.g. Azure Purview and Unity Catalog).
- Relevant certifications such as cloud platform certifications are a plus.

- Outstanding ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in both technical and business domains.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to translate complex architecture into actionable strategy.
- Experience mentoring technical talent and shaping a data-driven engineering culture.
