About the Role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of all maintenance and set-up personnel.
- Responsible for evaluating, training, disciplining, and recruiting. Also develop predictive and preventive maintenance.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Supervises the maintenance department providing clear plans and assignments of duties across all three shifts and suggesting discipline when necessary.
- Consults with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to prioritize departmental duties and assignments.
- Required to prepare and administer employee performance evaluations through the Manufacturing Engineering Manager assessing skills, performance, and recommendations for training or upgrading of skills.
- Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program that improves equipment and process performance.

Education/Experience
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail.

Pay range and compensation package
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
