Summary
Park Ohio’s Angola manufacturing facility seeks a Infrastructure Administrator to maintain local IT infrastructure and assist with company-wide server and Microsoft 365 environments. This hands-on role requires a proactive, independent professional to ensure systems are secure, stable, and optimized. The Infrastructure Administrator will serve as the primary on-site IT support, providing technical assistance and managing helpdesk operations.
Key Responsibilities
Priority Order:
- On-Site IT Support & Facility Tech Operations
- Act as primary IT contact for Angola facility; provide Tier 2/3 support to end-users and plant leadership.
- Troubleshoot PC hardware/software, printers, email, VPN, and other issues to minimize downtime.
- Install/upgrade PCs, peripherals, and mobile devices; ensure reliable access to email, Teams, and business tools.
- Manage and resolve tickets in the helpdesk system, ensuring timely updates and documentation.
- Local Network Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN networks, including routers, switches, wireless APs, and cabling.
- Assist in troubleshooting firewall settings (Fortinet) at Tier 1/2 level; escalate advanced issues as needed.
- Ensure backup systems function properly and manage offsite storage.
- Server & Directory Administration
- Maintain on prem Windows servers and Active Directory services.
- Perform patching, firmware updates, and health checks; manage DNS/DHCP and GPOs.
- Monitor server performance and file shares; ensure compliance with corporate IT policies.
- Microsoft 365 Tenant Management
- Maintain Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint for users.
- Maintain Conditional Access policies, MFA, and compliance settings.
- Endpoint Management & Security
- Maintain security standards for desktops/laptops; deploy updates and antivirus tools.
- Respond to local cybersecurity alerts; remediate vulnerabilities and coordinate with corporate security.
- User Training & Documentation
- Assist in user education on best practices (passwords, phishing awareness).
- Create simple how-to guides for common tasks (Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate hardware/software inventory and IT documentation.
- Track IT assets and document support requests in helpdesk system.
- Additional Duties
- Troubleshoot complex issues independently; escalate only when necessary.
- Support facility phone systems and coordinate with telecom vendors.
- Be ready to “wear many hats” to keep technology running smoothly.
