Yard Casuals - Kansas City

AWCT is hiring several Yard Casuals - This is a casual (part time) position, and you must be able to work the full shifts on every weekend with some shifts during the week (days & nights) as needed. This position is 100% outdoors driving/moving the new vehicles around our yard. We require a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and you must be able to pass a drug test and background check. 

Summary

Job requirements include driving new vehicles from the plant to and between various locations around the Kansas City area. Job duties could also include baying vehicles at offsite yards.

Essential Duties and Tasks

• Drive designated vehicles to and from specified locations in the yard or to local up-fitters.
• Must adhere to all local, state and federal traffic laws.
• Make certain all vehicles are parked in proper locations and bayed correctly to AAR standards when possible.
• Understand and apply all AWCT, customer, AAR, safety and quality standards/policies.
• Follow all safety guidelines to guarantee the job is done in a safe manner.
• Meet or exceed established production and quality standards.
• Read and match VIN numbers quickly and accurately to ensure movement of proper vehicles.
• Visually verify and inspect vehicles for damage.
• Keep work areas, vans, appropriate work attire, etc. clean and neat.
• Notify supervision of any workplace hazards or unsafe conditions immediately upon discovery.
• Attend monthly safety meetings.
• Report accidents and injuries immediately and follow up with the completion of the appropriate forms.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to adhere to strict production and quality standards without variance.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (often extreme) for long periods of time.
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours or more per shift.
• Ability to get in and out of vehicle driver's door with minimal door opening clearance.
• Ability to use technology equipment to assist in job duties.
• Ability to function effectively under pressure.
• Ability to communicate with others effectively; work as a team; good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to judge distances.
• Must have the ability to maintain a good sense of balance.
• Ability to keep confidential any work documents seen or conversations heard during performance of job duties.
• Ability to read and match numbers quickly and accurately.
• Ability to differentiate between colors for vehicle identification.
• Ability to write, read, and comprehend basic English.
• Ability to drive automatic automobiles.
• Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal.

Education, Experience & Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver's license; good driving record with the ability to maintain the same.
• Must have 5 years driving experience.
• Must pass AWCT pre-placement background clearances including pre-employment drug screening.
• High School Diploma and/or GED.
• Good and regular attendance.
• Good visual ability and auditory ability.
• Positively represent AWCT.
• Strong attention to detail.
